Product Concept: An integrated, mobile-first shuttle system that connects admins, drivers, and passengers to streamline route planning, booking, live ride management, and support.
Objective: Deliver a transit platform where every Admin, driver, or passenger can manage, monitor, and navigate daily shuttles through seamless, intuitive digital experiences.
With over 3,000+ buses in their fleet, the client wanted to build a large-scale bus shuttle app and management system to compete with platforms like Citiflow. The idea focused on enabling passengers to book and track rides in real time while giving admins powerful tools for fleet, route, and operations management.
The client wanted to create a large-scale bus shuttle system that could rival competitors like Citiflow. While analyzing existing solutions, the most significant challenge identified was in route planning and management within the admin portal. Other components such as the customer-facing app and driver app followed more generic patterns, but the complexity of managing routes and premium subscription plans required a unique design approach. The goal was to deliver a system that simplified fleet operations while providing customers with reliable and flexible travel options.
Our research began with client interviews to understand their vision and operational pain points. We then conducted a heuristic evaluation of the Citiflow app, examining its user flows, usability gaps, and technical limitations. By identifying existing bugs and friction points, we were able to uncover opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
Based on these insights, we adopted a three-platform approach:
The design strategy emphasized resolving the core issue of route planning, while ensuring scalability across all platforms. We aimed to balance operational efficiency with user-friendly interactions, setting the foundation for a streamlined shuttle ecosystem.
